With our consideration of the environment we remain thoughtful on the way we run our school. In 2013 we invested in solar panels to the school to aid with our energy consumption. We also have a low waste policy that outlines that children are to bring no food with wrappers, this helps Northern Nursery to cut down on the waste generated in the school weekly as well as provide an opportunity for fresh healthy food consumption for our children. Worm farms and community gardens also join in our sustainable philosophy.
The environment has natural and recycled furniture in keeping with our policy. Additionally there are four rain water tanks onsite that facilitate water play in the creek. Children are encouraged to be thoughtful in terms of valuing and using resources wisely. Additionally the children use recycled resources in their everyday play.
